In efforts to address the shortage in housing stock, California has recently implemented new legislation that eases previous constraints on new secondary dwelling units on existing single family, and multi-family dwelling lots. This 2-bedroom, 800 sq. ft. stand alone ADU is designed with a roof sloped up to a clerestory to provide ample sunlight during winter months, while a roof deck provides open space for outdoor enjoyment when weather is mild.
